FAQs

  • Neighbor is a dedicated space for the diverse communities who live and work along the High Line. Our hope is to explore what it means to be good neighbors, and what it means to neighbor well. If you’re in need of a comfortable space, want to have a communal conversation, spearhead an event, or share your gifts with the city, we’d love to help you do just that.

  • Absolutely! We love hearing from our neighbors how they'd like to see the Neighbor space be used. We love ideas for events, conversations, or programming that bring people together, build connections, inspire imagination, and/or foster meaningful discussions. Even better, let us know if you'd like to facilitate!

  • For sure! We love to see Neighbor be fully utilized. We’re open to folks who want to host public or private events.

Click here to tell us a little bit about the event you'd like to host and we'll explore with you if it feels like a good fit.

  • Neighbor sponsors some events, but many of our events are actually hosted by neighbors! This means some events will be free and open to everyone, while some will be private, require advanced registration, and / or have a fee. Check out our calendar for all upcoming events and details.

  • If you’ve popped into Neighbor and have met David then you’ll know he’s also the pastor of a local church. Storefront Church exists to be a neighborhood expression of God’s love to the communities along the High Line. Established in 2020, they meet every Sunday at Avenues School.

As a church of New Yorkers who know the value of physical space, they started and provide financial support for Neighbor out of love as a way to care for the city. While Neighbor is primarily to be used by the neighborhood for the good of the community, David does hold office hours at Neighbor and the church utilizes the space occasionally for some light programming.

  • In the same way we hope you feel free to bring your unique gifts to serve West Chelsea through Neighbor, we’re glad to provide free pastoral counseling for individuals or couples. Walk in or set up a time to chat here.

  • Our hours fluctuate by day, based on what events, private meetings, or other activities may be booked in the space. In general, we strive to be open for you to pop by to say hi Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm.
