Grief lies everywhere—around us, within us. And yet we often don’t have the time or the space to make sense of it. This free writing workshop is for any and all who have experienced or are anticipating some form of loss—loss of a parent, spouse, child, friend; loss of a job, a relationship, a home; loss of one’s sense of identity; loss of health. This workshop will help us give shape to that ever-changing experience of loss through the written word. We will write our grief in various modes and styles by looking at passages from writers who have articulated their pain, numbness, suffering, shock, absurdity, and hope. Together we will read, write, and share. This workshop is for anyone longing to sit, write, and grieve on the page. Come as you are (with a pen and notebook!).
